Snow Day!

After lost sleep last night, wondering if we would get the official call informing us that school was closed, we woke up this morning to at least 4 inches of fresh snow! Although we never received the official call, our view out the window and the local news confirmed our suspicions that we were going to have a snow day. Dave and I were excited to spend the day with Greyson and see his reactions to his first experience with snow. He was not to thrilled about all of the preparation that took place leading up to our outside adventure. Without having a snowsuit or snow boots, Dave and I had to get clever. We dressed him in multiple layers and did the old-fashioned plastic bags on his feet to keep him dry. With so much snow, Greyson had difficulty walking and wasn't to thrilled when he would fall and could not get up on his own. He did enjoy the sled ride on his make-shift sled (Dave took the wheels off of his red wagon). Overall, we had a wonderful day and I think Greyson enjoyed his first adventure with snow.

Two Months Old

Ok, I am a day late, but I have a 2 month old, which is a good excuse for being late. Greyson continues to bring us joy every day. His little personality is beginning to show, which includes smiling at Dave and I when we make funny faces and noises at him. He has his 2 month appointment tomorrow, so I am not exactly sure how much he weighs. My mom and I did weigh him last week at her work and with clothes on, he weighed a little over 11 pounds. I found myself telling my grandma and grandpa over skype today that the camera adds extra pounds when they commented on his chubby cheeks. :) All I can say is Greyson eats well. Greyson also showed his appreciation for his mommy by sleeping for 5 hours straight last night and then not waking up until 7 am. I am hoping this becomes a trend.

Six Weeks Old

Sleeping through Michaela's birthday party
He may be little, but he is mighty

I cannot believe it has been 6 weeks since Greyson was born. Some days it feels like we just brought him home from the hospital and other days it feels as if we have always had him. Greyson is gaining weight quite nicely, although he is still mainly in newborn clothes. He is able to lift his head and hold it up for a bit. We saw his first smiles around 5 weeks with his eyes open looking at us (so we know they were not gas smiles). He enjoyed his first overnight trip to Tigard for cousin Michaela's first birthday, although he pretty much slept through the entire event. Last Sunday, Grammy and Poppy got to babysit for an hour while Dave and I took out the kayaks around Seabeck marina. We enjoyed the sun and some couple time and I know Greyson enjoyed his hour nap on Grammy's lap.

Greyson Issac Arrives a Week Early

Our little bundle arrived at 3:55 on Thursday July 8. Weighing in at 6 lbs 5oz and measuring at 18 inches. Other than a few moments of low heart rate the delivery went smooth. Abbey was in labor for approximately 14 hours.

We have been learning and getting used to all the nuances that go into being new parents. This is when being a teacher, and having time off during the summer pays it's dividends.

13 Weeks To Go!

July seems so far away, yet looking back to the first viewing of that wonderful pink little line, time has passed so quickly. I feel great and so far pregnancy has been a piece of cake (I am hoping this trend continues). Our little boy is growing quite well and is very active. Dave was able to see a little hand or foot move across my belly the other night. I am rethinking the idea of trying to deliver au natural after my doctor informed me at my last visit that I am measuring a bit bigger than average. This seems kind of funny to Dave and I as we both have been anticipating a smaller baby. Time will tell. Here are some pictures of my growing belly. We haven't been the best at taking pictures, but we are trying to improve.
